You'll Learn

Residential rooftop safety refers to the measures and precautions taken to ensure the safety of individuals working on or around rooftops of residential buildings. and commercial properties. Whether it’s for window cleaning or pressure washing, working on rooftops can be hazardous due to the height involved and the potential for falls. Here are some key aspects of our hands-on residential rooftop safety course. By implementing these safety measures, residential rooftop work can be conducted more safely, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. Additional hand-on/classroom training will include First aid, water fed pole safety, noise control and chemical safety.

Fall Protection

Falls from rooftops are a significant risk. Learning the risks and safe practices of guardrails, safety nets, or personal fall arrest systems such as harnesses and lifelines can help prevent falls and minimize the risk of injury.

Equipment/documents

Learn to properly comply with OSHA 1910 regulations including how to inspect, use, recognize and document appropriate safety equipment such as helmets, carabiners, harness, lanyards, rope, etc. Additionally, having the right documents to comply with regulations will be taught in this training. Hands-on training on our rooftop area will give a real life working at heights situation and to help you, your team and everyone involved to prevent accidents.

Weather conditions

Learn how weather conditions affect your work. Wet or icy surfaces can increase the risk of slips and falls. We will go over how to help predict weather patterns in person.

Access/working points

Ensure safe and secure working/access points when working on roofs. This hands on course will help prevent falls during ascent and descent and being on different sections of a roof.

Electricity Safety

When working near electrical components, we will ensure that workers are trained in electrical safety practices and that proper precautions are taken to avoid electrical hazards.

Emergency preparedness

Have a plan in place for emergencies, including rescue procedures in case someone falls or gets injured on the rooftop. This may involve having first aid kits readily available and ensuring that workers know how to respond to emergencies effectively.
