You'll Learn
By taking our course, you will gain the knowledge and credentials to become an authorized or certified RDS (Rope Descent System) technician following IWCA safe practices and OSHA guidelines. Residential rooftop safety will receive OSHA 1910 Safety Certified Technician (more specifically geared towards Route/Residential/Light Commercial Technicians and Teams). You will also benefit from training with the latest industry equipment, industry standards, best practices and resources that IWCA offers. Our course covers topics such as safety, equipment inspection, beginner/intermediate/advanced techniques, rescue, rigging, etc.
Safety
Learn how to comply with OSHA regulations and ANSI standards, and how to prevent accidents and injuries while working at heights.
Techniques
Learn how to use rope descent systems, anchors, rigging, rescue, ladders and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Hazards
Learn how to identify and avoid common hazards such as electrical wires, falling objects, weather conditions, traffic and more.
Rescue
Learn how to prepare for emergencies and how to perform self-rescue and
assisted rescue techniques in case of a fall.
